Why Live Constitution Courses Matter: IOTC in Delaware
At the Institute on the Constitution (IOTC), we are blessed to offer online courses that reach students across the country. These digital lessons provide flexibility and convenience for busy families, professionals, and anyone eager to understand America’s founding principles.
But let’s be honest—there is nothing quite like taking a LIVE Constitution course. When you gather in a classroom with fellow students, engage with an instructor face-to-face, and experience the conversations, questions, and fellowship that arise in real time—you walk away with a deeper understanding and a stronger conviction to live out the principles of liberty.

Whether you’re a student, parent, or grandparent, these courses are designed to equip you with the knowledge and confidence to defend—and teach—your rights.
Why Instructors Should Get Involved Locally
At IOTC, we encourage our instructors to do more than simply teach classes. We believe they should engage with the groups, committees, and organizations that directly impact laws in their state. When you connect your understanding of the Constitution to real-life civic action, you multiply your impact.
Our own Larry D. Mayo has modeled this beautifully. In addition to teaching the U.S. and Delaware Constitution courses, Larry frequently appears dressed as Delaware’s own Caesar Rodney, reminding audiences of the sacrifice and courage it took to secure America’s independence.
Collaborating with the Caesar Rodney Institute
Larry’s commitment to both education and community engagement has led to a natural collaboration between IOTC and the Caesar Rodney Institute (CRI).
About CRI
The Caesar Rodney Institute is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) public policy organization based in Delaware, dedicated to protecting individual liberties. As a nonpartisan think tank, CRI provides fact-based analysis in the areas of education, energy & environmental policy, the economy & government spending, and health policy.
CRI operates under clear guiding principles:
-
Laws and regulations must conform to the U.S. and Delaware Constitutions.
-
Markets work best when government is limited.
-
Good laws come only when costs, benefits, and impacts are carefully understood.
-
Liberty thrives when citizens are informed.
CRI is also part of the broader State Policy Network, working alongside dozens of other state-focused, free-market think tanks across America.
Upcoming Constitution Day Events
This fall, CRI is launching its #CaesarRodney250 Series, and IOTC is honored to play a role.
As part of the celebration, Larry Mayo will portray Caesar Rodney in a dramatic retelling of his famous 80-mile midnight ride to cast Delaware’s decisive vote for independence.
Following the performance, CRI experts will lead panel discussions on today’s most pressing policy issues: education, energy, healthcare, and the economy.
📍 Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2025 – DuPont Country Club, Wilmington
📍 Thursday, Oct. 23, 2025 – Boardwalk Plaza Hotel, Rehoboth Beach

Why This Matters
Online learning is a gift—but live courses and live civic engagement are where transformation truly happens. When we study the Constitution together, when we connect with local leaders, and when we link our history to today’s challenges, we are not only preserving liberty—we are restoring it.
Join us in Delaware this fall. Learn the Constitution. Live the Constitution. And together, let’s ensure that the torch of liberty continues to shine for generations to come.
