Post-Launch Commentary: A Promising Start for USA 250

As we celebrate this Fourth of July, we’re reminded of the bold vision our Founders had for America—a vision rooted in truth, liberty, and unalienable rights endowed by our Creator. In anticipation of the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence in 2026, we’re excited to announce a brand-new course:
USA 250 – The Declaration of Independence Mini-Course

Created by IOTC President Larry Mayo, this course is more than a history lesson—it’s a journey through the very ideas that gave birth to the American Republic.

Why USA 250 Matters

Most Americans today recognize July 4th as a day of fireworks, picnics, and parades. But few truly understand what was risked—and what was declared—in 1776. Our new mini-course walks you line by line through the Declaration of Independence, revealing the truths it proclaims, the grievances it lists, and the vision it outlines for a free people under God.

Drawing from the Institute on the Constitution’s core curriculum, the course highlights:
  • The Biblical worldview of the Founders
  • The political and spiritual context behind each clause
  • The 56 signers' personal sacrifices and moral clarity
  • The role of divine Providence and natural law in declaring independence

As we near the 250th anniversary, this is a critical time for Americans to reclaim the foundations of our liberty and to pass them on to the next generation.

Post-Launch Commentary: A Promising Start for USA 250

We’re thrilled to share that the BETA launch of our new USA 250 courseThe Declaration of Independence Mini-Course—was a resounding success!

Participants traveled from as far as Saratoga, New York, and northern Delaware to be part of this exciting new opportunity to rediscover America’s founding document. From pastors and educators to concerned citizens and patriots, the energy in the room was inspiring—and the feedback we received was powerful.

As Larry Mayo, President of Institute on the Constitution, shares in the launch video, this class is about far more than memorizing historical facts. It’s about reclaiming the Biblical foundations of liberty, reawakening a proper understanding of government by consent, and restoring moral clarity to the civic conversation.

“If we don’t understand where our rights come from—God, not government—then we will continue to lose them,” Larry explains. “This course walks students line by line through the Declaration so they can grasp not only the ‘what’ of independence but the ‘why’ behind it.”

Thank You, BETA Testers!

We’re incredibly grateful to all who participated, offered feedback, and helped shape this class for future audiences. Your questions and enthusiasm are helping us fine-tune the experience to make it even more engaging and accessible.
